Please explore the following pages for simple guidance.  For your peace of mind, we are fully registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and all prescriptions are dispensed by qualified dispensers and checked by registered pharmacists.

We are able to dispense any valid NHS or private prescription issued by a UK registered prescriber and deliver it to you in the comfort of your own home.   We ask that you allow up to five days for delivery, but we aim to get them to you much sooner!

There are certain items, however, which are not suitable to supply via the postal service, e.g. items that require refrigeration and certain controlled drugs.  Please check this alphabetical list to see if your item cannot be sent by post, or alternatively give us a call on 01702 200442 to talk to one of our advisers.   We are also able to safely dispose of any unwanted or out of date medications that you may have.  We can ensure that they are disposed of correctly via our fully authorised health service contractor.

NHS Prescription Dispensing

Do you have to pay for your prescriptions?

Please note that any declaration of exemption may be checked by the NHS Fraud Prevention Team and false declarations may result in a penalty fine.  If possible, please send a photocopy of your exemption entitlement.

You will not have to pay any NHS charges if one of the following conditions applies if the patient:

Placing your FREE NHS Prescription Order & Delivery Details

Please complete the exemption declaration on the reverse side of each prescription.  If you are exempt from NHS charges you must tick one of the categories in Section A, and you must place your signature and the date in Section C.

Please be aware that we are only able to dispatch your prescription medicines once we have received your NHS prescription through the post.  When we have received the prescription it is dispensed, checked and then dispatched usually within 24 hours.  Please send your NHS prescription and a photocopy of your exemption entitlement (if possible) to the FREEPOST address below:

Placing your NHS Prescription Order & Delivery Details

Please complete the payment declaration on the reverse side of each prescription.  The current NHS charge is £7.20 per item.  An item refers to each different type of medication on the prescription – not the number of packets prescribed or the number of prescription forms.  Some prescription items carry more than one charge as they contain several different medications within one box.  Please check this alphabetical list to see if your items carry multiple charges. Then please place your signature and the date in Section C.

If you frequently have prescriptions you may be able save money by purchasing a pre-payment certificate. You can find out more, and purchase a pre-payment certificate online at www.ppa.org.uk.

Private Prescription Dispensing

We are able to dispense any valid Private Prescription issued by a UK registered practitioner, i.e. a doctor, dentist or vet.  All prescriptions are dispensed by fully qualified staff and checked by registered pharmacists before being dispatched by 1st class Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (signature required) to an address of your choice.

Due to the large variation in prices quoted between pharmacies for private prescriptions, it’s always worth shopping around to get several quotes.  We aim to provide a highly professional service and one of the lowest prices around!  Feel free to drop us an e-mail to contact@pills2u.co.uk with details of your prescription medication and we will return a quote as soon as possible.  Please include the name, strength and quantity of the medication prescribed.  Alternatively, just give us a call on 01702 200442.

Returns of Unwanted Medicines Service

We are authorised by our local health authority to dispose of any unwanted or out of date medications that you may have.  In all cases, please contact us by phone on 01702 200442 and speak with one of our advisers to obtain a medicines returns authorisation number.  Unauthorised returns will not be accepted under any circumstances and will be returned to sender.

Our adviser will discuss your request and send you suitable packaging materials to use and provide a FREEPOST address label to affix to your package.  This service is provided completely free of charge.

We are unable to accept any needles or other sharps, used or unused, nor are we able to accept returns from nursing homes.  If in doubt, please contact us on 01702 200442 or contact@pills2u.co.uk

NHS Repeat Prescription Dispensing

This service is available free-of-charge to any patient who has been given an NHS repeatable prescription by their doctor.  Your own GP will discuss whether this is suitable for your medication regime. 

A repeatable prescription is issued by your doctor as a single signed NHS prescription (known as the authorisation, RA) along with several unsigned NHS prescriptions (known as the batch issues, RD’s).

Once you have registered for this service with us, simply send us these prescriptions through the post.  The signed authorisation must be retained by us for all future dispensings and we will supply the medication against the batch issues at the intervals prescribed.  You can send us one batch issue at a time if you prefer, but it is usually much easier to send them in one go to avoid confusion. 

Seven days before your next instalment is due, we will contact you by e-mail or telephone (as you prefer) to ask if there have been any changes to your medication since the last dispensing.  If all is well, we will dispense and check the next instalment and send it to you straight away.  We will also send you a written reminder with the final instalment to allow you time to see your GP for another set of prescriptions.

You will need to send us your NHS repeatable prescriptions to the FREEPOST address below, but remember to complete the reverse side of each batch issue before posting.  Each prescription needs either a tick in the applicable exemption criterion (if exempt from NHS charges) or the payment amount (if not exempt from NHS charges).  They also need to be signed and dated in section C.  NHS charges will only be taken when the prescription is dispensed at the stated intervals.
